This afternoon, long-time CHOSA supporter Chris Sinclair will lead The International Music Festival’s first trip to Cape Town!
The Anthem Group and this year’s co-champions, Weekend Warriors will play their first concert at Wadda, a club in Claremont, Cape Town on Friday evening.
Weekend Warriors was born early in 2008 when producer Mike Gonek and singer-songwriter Brendan Beamish committed their full time and energy to doing what they love, making music. Inspired by living young in the city, Weekend Warriors deliver a sound unlike anything being done in Canada at that time. With the addition of Jermaine Hamilton, Weekend Warriors’ “pop scene, rock action” style has been tearing up stages all over Toronto. Weekend Warriors’ dance beats and party anthems keep crowds singing along all night. These three individuals come together to form a unique group of young men with the potential to capture hearts all over the world. Unlike many pop acts, they create their own music and they carry it with authority. Each member is incredibly talented in their own right. But together, the whole is infinitely greater than the sum of its parts. Weekend Warriors is booming and has recently had tracks used on The Real World Cancun, Paris Hilton’s My New BFF and The Hills!
You can download Weekend Warriors on iTunes or take a listen on the IMF website here. Scroll about half way down the page to hear “Mr Right Now”, “Take Me to LA” and “Rainfall”!
Partial proceeds from the festival will go to CHOSA and we hope that the publicity generated by the Weekend Warriors and their commitment to the cause will allow CHOSA to continue to support the children and entire communities that benefit from our financial and on-ground support!
